Another month has flown by in the blink of an eye and here I am writing another monthly blog post a few days late. Braxton officially turned two months old on the 19th but honestly ive been too busy to even get on my computer. So many new things have happened this month and I love seeing this sweet boy grow. Sooo lets start with the basics...
BRAXTON
Birth weight:5lbs 12oz
Current Weight: 9lbs 6oz (2nd percentile)
Birth length: 19.5 inches
Current length: 21 inches (11th percentile)
I keep calling this sweet boy my little chunk. He's starting to get a double chin and everything! But with one little check up Dr. Wiley informed me that he's actually really tiny (way to burst my bubble) but seems to be healthy and doing just fine! I have to go back next month though for a weight check so im hoping we can get it up a little bit!
Likes: paci, being cuddled, car rides, kisses, eating, being swaddled
Dislikes: diaper changes, not being fed immediately, baths
EATING
Braxton is still breastfed and im SO excited I have made it this far! When I pump, he eats about 4 ounces every 3 hours but if hes actually breastfeeding I let him eat as long as he wants and hes normally not hungry again for 2-3 hours. For the most part he is doing great with his schedule and knows that its about time for him to start eating riigghhht about that 3 hour mark!
SLEEP
When we first brought Braxton home he would probably sleep through the night if I let him but I had to wake him up every 3 hours so he could eat. Now I feed him about 10 and he sleeps until 4ish when he is ready to eat again. Dr. Wiley asked me if he was sleeping through the night yet and I told him no because I thought I still needed to be waking him up to feed. He informed me its perfectly fine if I wanted him to start sleeping through the night now sooooo we are slowly working on a new feeding schedule so we both get more sleep. Im one excited momma!
PLAY
Of course there is not much playing going on with this little guy right now but we have hit some milestones! I can honestly say ive been blessed with such easy going kids. Seriously he hardly fusses and cries. He is such an easy baby! He is able to hold his head up and look around for long periods of time. Its crazy how alert he is! He has a love/hate relationship going on with tummy time right now. Some days he LOVES it and will just look around the room and watch his big sister play. Other days, he will scream and cry until he gets picked up. Speaking of being held, Braxton is the biggest cuddle bug ive ever met! He would not object to being held, kissed, and snuggled with all day and some days that's exactly what I do! He has also began talking (cooing) but is VERY particular about who he "talks" to. Occasionally he will coo to me but he LOVES his Kiki (my mom) and will "talk" to her all day! Smiling is also a new thing. Every once in a while he will crack a smile to me but once again, he will smile at his kiki more than anyone!
This month has flown by so fast! As much as I wish time would slow down, I cant wait to see what the future holds for you little man!
