OUR SUMMER BUCKET LIST

S U M M E R
My second favorite season...right after fall of course(:
With me working on weekends and the weekdays free we have TONS of free time which means time to start thinking of ideas to keep a toddler + baby busy!

SUMMER 16 BUCKET LIST:

1. TEXAS RANGER BASEBALL
My family is a HUGE baseball family. My little brother will actually be traveling to Cape Cod and Florida this summer to play ball. I get to cross this off my bucket list TODAY because we are taking Tenley to her first game and I could not be more excited! Braxton will be staying with my dad during the game because this heat + reddish/blondish/brownish hair + super white skin don't mix too well

2. BUILDING A BIRDS NEST
We have a ridiculous amount of birds all around the apartment and they've even built a nest inside a little vent. Soo I got on Pinterest (duhhh...) and found these crafty little nests that you can stick to your window so you can still see the inside. Since Tenley is obsessed with any and all things animals this is the perfect little day craft for us to build and her to paint so we can see some cute little birds this summer!

3. WATER PARKS
Another activity that will be crossed off our list this weekend even though I hope we go visit more this summer! This weekend is Splash Kingdom and im hoping Tenley will enjoy it! We took a trip to the splash pad in the other day and she wasn't too sure of it so we will see how this goes!

4. DESSERTS
Baking is not one of my talents but thankfully Pinterest has some easssyypeasssyy recipes that I cant fail.
DIY icecream sandwiches! Find the recipe Here

Marshmallow dipped cones! Find it Here

Find the Dirt Cup tutorial Here

5. PAINTING
Picture frames, Canvases, Flower Pots, you name it...it will probably be painted this summer. Tenley LOVES to paint and I even saw cute ways that bubby can paint too...under extreme supervision of course(:

6. SWIMMING
Even though we have already been to the pool a million times I hope to go a million more. If you need to find us this summer you can find us poolside. in our sunnies. and A L L of Tenley's sassiness.

7. CHIA PET
I made a chia pet with my mom when I was little and it was the coolest thing ever. Im hoping this year Tenley will have as much fun as I did making her own pet and watching it grow(:

So that's my little list so far! Im sure it will grow even more as I find new things on pinterest and through friends! Have any cute ideas and things for the kids to do this summer? seriously let me know. because the cabin fever is forreals in this little apartment of ours.

WEEKEND HAPPENINGS

99% weekends are lame in our house.
I work weekends and the kids stay with my mom and by the time I get off there is normally not much time to have fun with the kids.
dinner
bathtime
bed
thats the basic weekend routine when I get off.
This weekend was the exception! I only worked Saturday which meant I had a fun-filled Sunday with my family + kids!

FRIDAY

Friday was fabulous and hot. We started off our morning cuddling in bed for as long as possible and I got to capture the perfect little pictures of Tenley reading her bible to her bubby. This child has been allllllll about Jesus talk lately.
"mommy jesus died and hide in the rock!"
"threeeeeee days momma then he come back!"
seriously can it get any sweeter than 2 year old Jesus talk?! i didn't think so.

Later in the afternoon we picked up my little brother, Trey, and went to the zoo to get the kids out of the house. Bad idea because it was hot as hades but Tenley had a great time so it was worth all the sweatiness.

the monkey literally just walked right up to Tenley. At first I thought it just loved her until I realized it just wanted the chicken nugget in her hand...

Then this child fed a giraffe for the first time. You would've thought this kid won a million dollars with the smile on her face.

SATURDAY
Saturday was work from 9-5 and not one. single. picture. was taken sooo theres that.

SUNDAY

Sunday definitely lived up to the "sunday funday" saying.
We started off celebrating my sweet cousin-to-be Bailey (even though ive considered her family forever!) at her bridal shower! The party was completely beautiful and Tenley is so excited to be the flower girl!

Tenley ate a cupcake and everything was perfect in her world...until I tried to take a picture

We headed back to my moms house and B and I took a much needed nap while Tenley and my family went out for dinner!
We finally headed home and the kids watched Zootopia while I watched WAGS (my reality tv obsession is a problem) and did laundry! It was such a fun weekend and im so glad I got to spend it with my family!

also, I saw this sweet saying on instagram and it was definitely something I needed to hear so I thought id share it on here!
